Directions in Words
Good access to motorways – A10 to the west (towards Bordeaux) and A20 to the east (towards Toulouse)
From the North
From all major ports on the French north coast, drive towards Tours. If you use the motorway, take exit 23 or 24 of the A10 south of Tours and drive on the N143/D943 towards Loches. At the edge of Loches, follow the signs to Châteauroux (also N143/D943) and Châtillon. Drive through the village of Perrusson and after about 500 meters, turn right onto the D41 towards Verneuil-sur-Indre and Saint-Flovier. Drive through Verneuil to Saint-Flovier – be careful here, as the signs to Obterre (6 km away) are easy to miss. Leave the village (on the D21) and after 400 meters, turn right onto the D14 towards Obterre. We are located on the left side at the edge of the village before the entrance.
From the South
Towards Limoges & Clermont-Ferrand – towards Châteauroux
Follow the D925 towards Vendoeuvres, Mézières-en-Brenne and on to Azay-le-Ferron. (Please ignore all signs to Obterre at this point, otherwise you will be diverted cross-country.) At the roundabout, drive straight through Azay-le-Ferron, leaving the castle on your left, and drive towards Preuilly-sur-Claise. Shortly before leaving the village, turn right, signposted Obterre 8 km (D14). Once in Obterre, follow the D14 uphill towards Saint-Flovier. We are located 300 meters outside the village on the right side.
From the West
Approach Poitiers – towards Châtellerault, then onto the D725 towards La Roche-Posay and on to Preuilly-sur-Claise. Follow the D725 to Azay-le-Ferron. Ignore signs to Obterre until you reach Azay-le-Ferron. Turn left, signposted Obterre 8 km (D14). Once in Obterre, follow the D14 uphill out of the village towards Saint-Flovier. We are located approx. 300 meters outside the village on the right side.
